I just call her "Mom"

[3] I guess this means I'll be cut out of her will... Then again, I now get to pick her retirement home!

While on the boat, one of the crew (an extremely solicitous young man) asked if my mother needed help getting off the boat
You conveniently forgot to mention that you initiated the whole thing by telling Daniel that I'm your mother.

Needless to say, "Mom" she stayed for the rest of the trip
And I suppose that you will continue to call me "Mom" for the rest of our lives. You are an evil, evil man. 8:-)

Now, Mom, I know that Sis is your favorite, but that's no reason to make up stories[1]! What really happened was that I told Daniel that it was your birthday in hopes that he would get the crew to sign "Happy Birthday" to you [2]. He went away for a bit and then came back and asked me if my mother needed assistance. That's when I said "She's not my mother! She's my grandmother!" [3].

It wasn't until after that happened that I started to call you "Mom". And watched you squirm as the young lady on the bus and the waiter in the restaurant and the stewardess on the plane and everyone else agreed.

I blame my "parents", "Mom"!

[1] Or is this the first sign of Alzheimer's?
[2] Which almost happened on the jungle train and did happen in the Moroccan restaurant.
[3] And Daniel nearly believed me, too!

Don't encourage him!
There you go -- taking all the fun out of it.
